"The Constitution is not a Suicide Pact."

Quick! Who said that?

Three guesses and the first two don't count.

That's right! Ol' Honest Abe the Railsplitter - cherished and honored in the North as the wisest and most honest President - is notorious in the South where he is regarded as a military dictator. And by any modern political definition, there is a legitimate argument for this. Consider: Abraham Lincoln suspended habeas corpus - a writ requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court, or the legal right to apply for such a writ. Of course, Abraham Lincoln led the country as it prosecuted a war against the populations of States whose crime was the (arguable) right to secede. I say arguable, because at the time the Constitution did not address whether or not a State had the right to decide for itself if it chose to remain within the Union. There is some rationale for why in the South the Civil War is known as "The War of Northern Aggression".

Mind you, Lincoln had an emergency on his hands unequaled by any President before or since - even Roosevelt even World War II. The present "Overseas Contingency Operation" - as sinister as it is - doesn't even come close. And please don't retweet and transmit all over the place that Sean Linnane is a secessionist - I personally believe that the Civil War was the stupidest war we ever fought because it was Americans killing Americans. Conversely, it was probably the most necessary war we've ever conducted because ultimately we became unified as a nation and have been able to move forward to the exceptional place we occupy now amongst the family of nations.

Fast Forward:

Liberals like to compare their guy to Lincoln.

The current occupier of the Whitehouse has more in common with the Railsplitter than he may care to admit - and I'm not talking about the fact that neither of them were born in Illinois. Despite sentiments expressed regarding prosecuting terrorists within the rule of law - something not required by the Law of Land Warfare, the Hague or Geneva Conventions, at least not beyond a drumhead tribunal and a firing squad or a rope, that is - the Obama Administration has now targeted and summarily executed two members of the Most Wanted List - al Awlaki and the big guy of course: Osama bin Laden - in total violation of any kind of writ of habeas corpus.

Not that I give a damn. As a Crusader, I personally ascribe to the philosophy of Arnaud Amalric the seventeenth abbot of Cîteaux when it comes to dealing dealing with terrorist scum:

When asked by a Crusader leader - at the siege of Béziers, France in 1209 - how to distinguish Cathars from Catholics, Arnaul Amalric replied: Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius. - "Kill them all. For the Lord knoweth them that are His."

Of course what makes this al Awlaki character unique is that he is actually a US citizen - or at least he WAS; there's some speculation out there over whether or not he actually denounced his US citizenship, in which case the whole issue of habeas corpus just went out the window.

Now if it were just a hit list of terrorists we're talking about, I'd be alright with that. The problem with this current crew in DC is that they've overstepped their legal parameters before with things like the ban on drilling in the Gulf, telling Boeing where they can set up factories, etc. They've done this and more and now they're testing the waters for something Judi McLeod at the Canada Free Press has coined ‘Re-Election by Suspended Election Revolution’

She's quite good with the satire & wit:

With absolutely no proof of any kind of who he really is, Barack Obama made it to the Oval Office in 2008. There was no media vetting of the largely absentee senator from Illinois, who even back then had the temerity to compare himself to Abraham Lincoln. All anyone ever had to go on was an autobiographical book suspected of being ghost-written by an unrepentant domestic terrorist. We all know how it goes with politicians and autobiographical books.

When Nancy Pelosi writes hers she will claim she trumps Mother Teresa, the Calcutta saint, not the one married to John Kerry.

Judi's premise is that by now it's SO obvious that Obama is SO low in the polls, the Republicans could run Elmer Fudd even and he'd win by a landslide. The Dems aren't only going to lose the Whitehouse, they're going to lose the Senate and the political exile they're looking at is going to make the Book of Exodus look like a Sunday School picnic. Therefore Obama's - and the Democrat's - only hope for hanging on to power would be if the elections could be suspended somehow. Sounds like a stretch, but weirder things have happened in politics.

Personally I don't think even Obama could get away with something this outrageous, but that's not to say he wouldn't try. Down there in my home state of North Carolina we have a dingbat Democrat governor Bev Perdue. Last week she blurted out about suspending the elections for two years so that the current cast & crew could focus on jobs and the rest of the nation's problems instead of political campaigns. Later she described her comments - made at a Rotary Club in Cary - as 'sarcasm'.

‘I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years . . .’ Gov. Bev Perdue told a Rotary Club meeting. She later said she was not serious.

Now let me tell you: Bev Perdue has got chicken gizzards for brains, and she only got into the Governor's Mansion on Obama's coattails in the '08 election as part of the independents knee-jerk reaction against anything that even smelled Republican - thanks to a dedicated eight-year anti-Bush propaganda campaign by the Left Leaning Mainstream Media. Bev Perdue has never had an original thought in her entire life. Bev Perdue's comment about suspending the elections was a trial balloon floated out there - what made it sarcasm was the wide element of truth to it.

Don't think for a minute the liberals wouldn't LOVE to suspend Democracy if they could get away with it. Look at their idols: Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega, Hugo Chavez - they LOVE these people and are always hogging up the limelight, posing for pictures with them:

Jimmy Carter never met a bloody ruthless dictator he didn't like; he practically had a slobbering love affair with Yassar Arafat.

John Kerry chumming it up with Daniel Ortega: "Gracias por las balas sinsemilla, Amigo!"

Madeleine Albright on the only date she's been on in the past twenty years.

Nancy Pelosi showing some hind leg there to Bashar Assad - he's telling her his lifelong dream to meet Ricky Bobby and drive in NASCAR

Man-Love Affair: Sean Penn suggested prison time for journalists who call Hugo Chavez a dictator.

Obama with his buddy Mohamar, before he turned around and stabbed him in the back.

Liberals love ruthless dictators because they envy their total power. If they thought they could get away with suspending the elections in order to impose their full socialist agenda on us, they'd do it in a heartbeat. Remember back when it looked like the Obamacare bill hinged on a couple votes and Nancy Pelosi suggested they could "deem" it passed? If she was joking then, how come nobody was laughing?

They like to make us Tea Partiers look like extremists, the far-right wing. The truth of the matter is we represent the majority of the Republican Party, and a good portion of what used to be referred to as 'Reagan Democrats'. We are the Working Class, we are the Warrior Class, we are property owners, business owners, and taxpayers. We are the lifeblood of this nation. As such, we are not on an extreme end of the political spectrum, rather we occupy a good portion of the middle. The modern Democratic party of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Weiner and Kerry are the extremists, and the American people were hoodwinked when they voted in 2008. If the mid-term elections were any indication - and all subsequent polling data - the American people do not like what they got. Not one little bit. 2012 is coming, and the Tea Party will finish the work we started in 2010.
